But anyway, now there have finally showed up some photos from the tour, which means that I can make my report a little prettier than it would have been with only a whole lot of text! Unfortunately I don't have the possibility to scan the photos, so the quality is so-so… But here comes the report!
I met my friend and some of her friends at Harajuku station shortly before 6 pm, and we walked the short distance to the arena. I hadn't bought my concert goods yet, so we got into the giant line. I nervously glanced at my watch, wondering if I would get to the front of the line in time for us to reach our seats before the show started. But the Japanese never fail to amaze me – in less than 15 minutes I went away from the line, carrying two sets of every possible concert goods (one set for me, one set for my friend back home). And so we went into the arena. We ended up right behind Takichan, the cute blue fluffy character from TakiCHANnel, who was also walking into the arena at the same time!
We had seats in the last row of the C5 block, which was in the back of the arena, on the right side, down on the floor. If you ask me, the seats were really good – right in the middle of the back stage and the center stage, and we could also see the main stage, even though the view wasn't as good. But there were big screens as well. I had a few minutes to take a look at this year’s concert goods. The logotype is so pretty! It's a pink heart with the word LOVE against a white background, and on one side of the heart there is a wing ("tsubasa")… All the goods were pink, of course. A Hawaii shirt with a lot of Taki Rangers and flowers on, a beach towel with the logotype on, a penlight in the shape of the word LOVE, a brown totebag with pink images on (Taki Rangers, etc), a hairclip looking like a giant pink flower, and two small items for the cellphone.
While we were waiting for the show to start, there were video messages on the screens – different persons who did stuff and then said "daisuki!" While we were inside the arena, Takki, Mis Snow Man and Tsubasa showed up in the messages. Oh, there were so many who kyaa-ed when Tsubasa's message was shown!
As punctual as always, the show started at 6:30 pm. Takki alone was raised through the floor of the main stage, dressed in white and sitting at a grand piano. There were blue spotlights on him and it was so beautiful! He sang a part of MADONNA as a ballad before he was hidden away in the floor again. A voice boomed out of the speakers, welcoming us and asking us if we were ready, and telling us to create beautiful summer memories together with them! At the same time, things happened on the center stage – a giant cloth was raised towards the ceiling, and when it fell down with a BANG and lots of fire special effects, a group of dancers were on the stage – and Takki was standing in a …something… high above the stage. He was dressed in glittering clothes from head to toe – golden pants and black jacket. And I thought it looked sooo good on him! During the song he was travelling from the center stage to the main stage, where he then sang Words of Love. I admit, I did cry out of joy then… I love that song to pieces; the video where he sang it with KAT-TUN as background dancers many many years ago was put on repeat on my computer from time to time – and now I finally got to hear it live! So many feelings at that moment!
Then it was time for 894…ハクシ… and during the song the members of Snow Man were introduced and they were the main dancers of the show. It was a very long act, but the song is also very good – and to be honest I hadn't heard it many times before this show. They also dropped shiny streamers with the tour logo from the ceiling during this song, and I grabbed a few!
Then there was a short break when Takki went off stage to change clothes. There were some text messages on the screens, first there were some messages from Takki. Then there were requests for the audience – to shout, then to shout "Takki suki!" and finally to shout "Tsubasa suki!" I was sooo excited over the Tsubasa call – not even when Takki is on a solo tour does he exclude Tsubasa!
After the break there were two completely new songs, both were mainly in English. The first one was called CRAZY GIRL and the other one DETROIT. Both were quite badass acts – the clothes, the red sports car, the girls, and even a gun… But I had so much fun during the song DETROIT because the lyrics were really…all the time I stood there thinking (while almost laughing) "does he know what he is singing?!" The lyrics were so undisguised, like "come here, because I want to sleep with you, get down, down!" Yeah, I had so much fun during that song…
Then there was a short MC on the main stage. Takki took off his jacket so he only wore a black tanktop and white pants. And he had a large fake tattoo on his right upper arm as well.
The next song was 12月の花, and that was so beautiful! The stage was set up in several levels, and there were dancers on each level wearing white clothes and dancing some kind of modern/ballett dance. And then Takki standing in front of them all, singing this beautiful ballad, and on the screen behind him were images of white flowers and stuff. That was the second time during the evening that my eyes were wet…
Then Takki disappeared again, to change clothes yet again, and Snow Man took charge of the stage with their dancing. I felt a little bad for the guy who alone had the final part of their show, because he stumbled when landing on his way towards the center stage. When he reached the center stage Takki also appeared there, from below, dressed in orange clothes. Now he sang FIGHT ALL NIGHT and they made a cool two-man-show of it out there on the center stage. It looked fantastic, and I love the song!
They returned to the main stage and a group of juniors emerged. It was time for 愛 Check It! and Takki walked along the left-side lower balcony together with some of them, the rest of the juniors walked along the right-side lower balcony. They went all the way to the back stage, and when they got there the light was dimmed and the dancers brought out luminous masks and did a cool dance with them behind Takki. Then everyone disappeared from the stage and they showed a short video – about Takki's badass long-haired character Souchou, who met a cute girl in the school corridor and suddenly went all softie (to the music of Heartful Voice…).
Directly after that, Takki showed up in the arena as Souchou, and he walked through the arena (I mean, on the arena floor) all the way to the main stage, followed by Snow Man who were acting as reporters. A short skit followed, and then he sang 愛革命. Then he would get out of the Souchou character – but not without some teasing, of course. He pretended to take off his wig at least 3-4 times before he finally took it off for real. The next song was With Love, so unbelievably beautiful! And with one final glance at the pile of clothes and the wig on the floor, Takki left the stage with his head bent…
When he re-appeared he was dressed in an unbuttoned red-and-black checkered shirt. HEY! LISTEN TO THE MUSIC was on and Takki took the stairs on the right-hand side of the main stage, all the way up to the upper balcony where he jumped onto a cart that brought him along the balcony. When he got to behind the back stage the song changed, and while he went along the left-hand side balcony he sang 山手線外回り - one of my favourite songs ever. The funny thing is that whenever I travel between Shinjuku and Shibuya, that song pops into my head for some reason…
When Takki got back to the main stage it was time for a music break. He brought out a small box and said he would pick a number – a seat number… The lucky person was a girl in the section to the left behind me, dressed in a beautiful yukata. Two of the female dancers came and got her, but she had to wait for a while beneath the center stage while Takki & Co had their MC. Yeah, Takki couldn't have an MC all by himseld, so Kawai Fumito and They!Budou showed up and kept him company. Unfortunately I don't know exactly what they talked about since my Japanese listening comprehension still is on a minimum level, but I know they at least talked about the anniversary events in September – and from the audience I understood that the MC was very funny. And since Kawai-san was present I hadn't expected anything less…
There was also some special important person there who Takki welcomed. As I understood it, that person had to do with Micronesia, an ambassador maybe? And why Micronesia, you wonder? Because Takki was chosen this summer to become their goodwill ambassador.
Then the girl from the audience finally got to come onstage. The two dancers led her to a chair standing between the center stage and the main stage, and there she sat while Takki sang the KinKi Kids song もう君以外愛せない to her. At the end of the song she was led to the main stage, facing the audience while he sang, and it all ended with him walking up to her, the dancers putting up a cloth in front of them so that we could only see their shadows, he took her hand and they left the stage… However, the cloth fell down on one side so the shadowpeople effect failed somewhat before they could fix it. But it was still very beautiful!
The next song was No Control with Snow Man, who also offered a lot of good dancing. Then Takki showed up above the stage again, singing ヒカリヒトツ. It was so beautiful, they lowered the "cage" (or whatever…) for a while, fastening glowing lines to it, which caused a really nice effect when they raised it towards the ceiling again!
Then Takki walked towards the center stage holding a suitcase in one hand. He opened it – and picked out his pink clothes! There was a pink Hawaii shirt, of course – since it was part of the concert goods. It was finally time for 気まぐれJET! They started on the main stage, and I was happy to see so many pink pompoms in the audience as well, and not just on the stage! This song is so insanely fun – and I really want to thank the amazing person who created pompoms for me as well!
The song ended on the center stage and a Takitsuba medley started. It was quite fun doing the dances with pink pompoms… 愛はタカラモノ, then ホッサマー when Takki & Co left the main stage after a while, walking along the left-hand side of the arena to the back stage. There they sang 夢物語 while coloured plastic ribbons were released over the sections in the back. Unfortunately I didn't get any because I was just out of reach… Then Takki walked along the right-hand side of the arena to the main stage while singing One Day One Dream (which was one of the first two Tackey & Tsubasa songs I ever heard).
REAL DX was the next song, and I have to admit that I didn't really love it the first few times that I heard it – but now it's kind of one of my favourites. It just took me some time… But it's really just amazing!! Then he sang シャララ which I also like a lot. The "last" song was キ・セ・キ - and I cried once again… Oh what a softie I am! But I just really love it, and never thought I'd get to hear it live! It was sooo beautiful, Takki standing alone at the front of the stage, and at the end there was a lot of glitter falling from the ceiling over him. So unbelievably beautiful!
Time for the encores! First there was Taki Ranger (I mean the character…) who sang 愛の戦士滝レンジャー. Taki Ranger is a crazy character, I can't help loving the outfit after all! Pink, of course… But today only the helmet was there – a pink helmet with the text LOVE on it. Then there was an ero dance – which wasn't so ero really… But it was some nice dancing by Takki and Snow Man, and one of the guys was told off by Takki because his feet made weird sounds when he moved! There was some more dancing, Takki lifted his shirt a tiny tiny bit – and it was finished…
Only the finale left, then! It was started with ひと夏の - love! Takki had this giant green pompom that he waved around a lot. And I could almost feel the floor swaying when all of us were jumping during the choruses! The final final song was 瞳をとじて - even more love!! I fell in love with that song the first time I heard it, and after that I've heard it here and there (like in that old commercial that Takki did as a junior) – but hearing it live just made the whole night for me! Takki went around the arena with this lovely gold-glittering hat. It had a purple ribbon and on the left side were big letters forming the word LOVE. Something he borrowed from Taki Ranger, perhaps?
During the last songs, Takki and the others wore orange t-shirts. Most of them had the text 滝沢命 (the translation I got was something like "I love Takizawa with all my heart") – but Takki had a special one with the text 俺命. 俺 means I or me… I loved that t-shirt! They released more stuff from the ceiling in the arena as well, some kind of foam plastic ribbons almost in the shape of bows, with the tour logo on them. I don't remember when they did so, but it was some time in the end of the show.
So, I'll try to write some kind of summary here. But I feel that I don't have many word left. It was my first ever Takki concert. It was fantastic, amazing, so much fun. Filled with juniors, glitter, love and Tsubasa. Just like I had expected it to be! I'm so happy that I'll get to see the show once more in few weeks!
